2008 - Scholarships

Brent McGreer Leadership Scholarship - The Brent McGreer Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior based on academic achievement, extracurricular activity, and leadership involvement in DECA or FCCLA. The funding for this scholarship is provided by the friends and family of Brent McGreer, a 2003 Clarkston High School graduate who was active in DECA and FCCLA leadership. This application (available above) requires a personal essay, recommendations from a teacher and/or guidance counselor along with academic records. The selection committee consists of CEF board members along with DECA and FCCLA faculty representatives.

CEF Senior Scholarships - The CEF (Clarkston Education Foundation) Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior who demonstrates academic promise and financial need. This award was created by community members who wanted to broaden the horizons and prepare students to experience life in and beyond the valley. These community members formed the CEF in order to promote and enhance education in Clarkston schools. This application requires a personal essay, recommendations from teacher and/or guidance counselor along with academic records. The selection committee consists of CEF board and community members.

Eighth Grade Scholarships - The Clarkston Education Foundation Eighth Grade Scholarships are awarded to two eighth grade students who demonstrate academic promise while overcoming family hardships. This scholarship is designed to encourage students at a younger age to envision their future and career opportunities. These students are nominated by an 8th grade teacher and must complete an application stating their career goals. This award is contingent upon graduation from high school and awarded upon enrollment in a college or university, a professional or technical program, or any other course of instruction meeting the approval of the CEF Board of Directors.
