About Washington State Matching Grants

The state’s Community Scholarship Matching Grant program was created to encourage local organizations to raise money to help students go to college. Scholarship foundations that raise $2,000 for college scholarships receive $2,000 state matching grants. Grants can be distributed to local students or placed in an endowment for future scholarships.

Organizations must be tax-exempt and have 501(c)(3) federal tax code status. State legislation gives preference for grants to organizations affiliated with Dollars for Scholars.
